There are various expansions in slang, business , medicine and everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">OPO<\/span><\/em> in <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">business<\/span><\/em> can translate to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Optimum Positioning Opportunity<\/em><\/span>, in the sense it becomes almost a competitive advantage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">OPO<\/span><\/em> in the world of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>medicine<\/em><\/span> could be <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Organ Procurement Organization.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">OPO<\/span><\/em> could also stand for <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Open Procurement Order.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And in everyday <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">slang<\/span><\/em>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>OPO<\/em><\/span> is simply <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Other People&#8217;s Opinions<\/em><\/span>. And do people have them????<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The above out of the way, let&#8217;s get down to what I am driving at.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-990\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sureshdinakaran.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/AWEPTIMISM.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"783\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In our case, the pecking order of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>OPO<\/em><\/span> reads somewhat like this: <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Optimism<\/span><\/em> to begin with, bring on the <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">pessimism<\/span><\/em> in the middle to moderate and ascertain and go back to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>optimism<\/em><\/span> late in the piece.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Often times we ourselves get in the way of getting something started. That is where <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">optimism<\/span><\/em> comes in, as without that, the journey to something new, something better and the world of multiple possibilities wouldn&#8217;t come about. Believing in what you are about to do does not guarantee success, but a lack of belief can surely prevent it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once we hit the road, open the bag of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>pessimism<\/em><\/span>, that bag which contains questions. Play devil&#8217;s advocate. Dig holes. Use the fine tooth comb. Evaluate. Is it misplaced enthusiasm? Raise the bar. Hold yourself accountable. Let the jury be out(standing)!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The above accomplished, call your friend back. Suggest you keep it on speed dial. <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Optimism<\/span><\/em>. Look at <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>progress not just outcomes<\/em><\/span>. And progress requires the courage to move ahead despite the inevitable obstacles and speed breakers. To quote <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Ryan Holiday<\/em><\/span>&#8216;s book title &#8221; <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The Obstacle Is The Way<\/span><\/em> &#8220;. Perfection is an illusion. Showing up and shipping out is not. Iterations can happen. Enhancements and making things better will follow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Optimism<\/span><\/em> is a tool that, if used wisely, it brings enthusiasm, inspiration and hope to projects that benefit from them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>pessimism<\/em><\/span> is a tool as well\u2013it can help you with budgeting, scheduling and other projects.
