No. The arithmetic<\/strong><\/em> may not look right. Contrarian and defies established norm. Yes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But, dare I say, this is the new math<\/strong><\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A lot of our attention <\/strong>and effort<\/strong> is spent and invested in trying to onboard the laggards and the lurkers.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And it done by dumbing down<\/em><\/strong>. Offering more incentive<\/strong><\/em>. Creating urgency<\/strong><\/em>. Re-posting<\/strong><\/em>. Hustling<\/strong><\/em> to see if they would take some action.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Certainly not worth it.\u00a0 And very frustrating for anyone who leads<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Progress operates on a different GPS. It has a different route to take.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Wouldn’t it be great if everyone who says they are a contributor | supporter | fan | contributor | member | long-term customer<\/strong><\/em> showed up..<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

..then huge things would begin to happen<\/em>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 95%<\/em><\/strong> who lurk<\/em> and remain non-committal<\/em> will almost always lurk. Thats okay.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The energy and the emotional labour has to go into the 5%. The place to focus on.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Because when their persistent, consistent<\/em> and generous action<\/em> begins to add up, change happens<\/strong><\/span><\/em>. And that may bring the lurkers<\/em> along. And who knows, even activate them<\/em>. They will catch up when they need to.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The chasm will get bridged at its own pace. And that’s perfectly fine<\/em>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There’s nothing wrong with the laggards<\/em> and the lurkers<\/em>. Remember, they are potential action-takers<\/em>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But for now, our focus, action, respect<\/em> and gratitude<\/em> is for all those people who are already showing up. And shipping out<\/em><\/strong><\/span>. Which is the<\/strong><\/span> 5%<\/span><\/strong><\/span>!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, let’s stop falling over ourselves to dumb down. Average it out. Trying to appeal and please everyone and anyone.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When you seek to engage with everyone, you rarely delight anyone<\/em>. And if you\u2019re not the irreplaceable, essential, one-of-a-kind change maker, you never get a chance to engage with the market.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, seek your MVA(minimum Viable Audience)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span>. This would be counter to what are taught (or expected to learn) in the ‘ School of Capitalism<\/strong><\/em> ‘ , but this is the simplest way to do the work that matters, impacts, changes and leaves an inspiring legacy.<\/p>\n

Now you know- Why 5% > 95% ?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
