We are all looking for self help advise(at least I am) and it tends to reflect the beliefs and priorities of the era that spawns it. A decade ago, the reigning champion of the genre was \u201cThe Secret<\/strong>,\u201d published by Rhonda Byrne<\/strong>. All of us would recall that book being the rage of the age. Byrne combined a literal interpretation of select verses from the Christian Bible\u2014notably Matthew 21:22, \u201cWhatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, ye shall receive\u201d\u2014with the acquisitive gospel of positive thinking.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In our current era of non-stop technological innovation, fuzzy wishful thinking has yielded to the hard doctrine of personal optimisation.What self help gurus<\/strong> are selling is metrics.<\/strong> It\u2019s no longer enough to imagine our way to a better state of body or mind. We must now chart our progress, count our steps, log our sleep rhythms, tweak our diets, record our negative thoughts\u2014then analyse the data, recalibrate, and repeat.<\/p>\n With so much for us mortals to do,it’s no secret that AI<\/strong> and Machine Learning<\/strong> are calling the shots…<\/p>\n Being Human<\/strong> is getting difficult?
