The Learning Curve is not a curve, but a full circle- Not trying to throw a curve ball here!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Some food for thought to begin with.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Michael Jordan<\/em><\/span>, basketball god, gets cut from his high school varsity team. Fast-forward: Six rings, GOAT status. Retirement? He circles back to baseball (because why not?), bombs spectacularly, then reboots with the Chicago Bulls<\/em><\/span> for three more titles. Learning loop: Humiliation \u2192 Domination \u2192 Humble Pie \u2192 Dynasty.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Or take J.K. Rowling<\/span><\/em>\u2014rejections piling like unread mail, Harry Potter<\/em><\/span> rejected 12 times, then wizard billions. Post-fame? She dives into crime novels as Robert Galbraith<\/em><\/span>, circles back incognito, rediscovers the raw thrill of the unknown.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Imagine: The chef who masters Michelin stars, quits to sling street tacos in Mexico City, only to reinvent fine dining upon return. Circle complete.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mastery is not about adding layers.It\u2019s about shedding them<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The beginner and the master often look suspiciously similar. <\/p>\n A child picks up a crayon and draws without permission. <\/p>\n That\u2019s not evolution. Real growth is circular\u2014peak performance births complacency, which demands reinvention. It’s not ascent; it’s orbit. Einstein<\/em><\/span> nailed it: “Intellectuals solve problems; geniuses prevent them<\/em><\/span>.” But geniuses know prevention loops back to new problems. Weight hits when you realize: Mastery without the circle is stagnation in disguise<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We\u2019ve built entire education systems on the myth of linear ascent. A staircase with no permission to spiral.<\/p>\n But the most dangerous learners? They don\u2019t climb.<\/p>\n They orbit.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n So how do you learn in circles (without losing your mind)?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n 1. Revisit what you think you\u2019ve \u201coutgrown.\u201d<\/em><\/span> 2. Chase confusion, not clarity.<\/em><\/span> 3. Unlearn publicly.<\/em><\/span> 4. Rotate contexts.<\/em><\/span> 5. Protect your beginner\u2019s mind like it\u2019s IP.<\/em><\/span> <\/p>\n A musician starts raw, becomes technical, then transcends both. <\/p>\n Circle.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Here’s a thought that might be worth pondering over<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n What if everything you’re learning right now, you already knew? Not d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu. Not mysticism. Just the maddening, magnificent truth that learning doesn’t go forward<\/em><\/span>\u00a0\u2014 it comes\u00a0around<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n The curve lied to us(We are all prudent in hindsight, hence recognising).<\/p>\n We were sold a clean, confident arc \u2014 you start ignorant, you end expert, you retire with a plaque. School. College. Career. Mastery. Done. Linear. Lovely. Wrong.<\/p>\n Ask a jazz musician<\/em><\/span> what they’re doing at 60.\u00a0Relearning scales<\/span>.<\/em>\u00a0Ask a Nobel laureate<\/em><\/span> what humbles them.\u00a0What they don’t know<\/span>.<\/em>\u00a0Ask a monk<\/em><\/span> with 40 years of practice what they’re working on.\u00a0Beginner mind<\/span>.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The experts keep circling back. Because wisdom isn’t a summit. It’s a return.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Consider the caterpillar<\/em><\/span> \u2014 which doesn’t\u00a0become<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>a butterfly so much as it\u00a0dissolves<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>into biological soup inside the cocoon before anything new forms. It doesn’t build on what it was. It erases it. Then rebuilds from the undone. That’s not a curve. That’s a full, violent, gorgeous circle.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Or look at Pixar<\/em><\/span><\/a>. Every film begins with the director’s “worst version” of the idea. They call it “embracing the ugly baby<\/em><\/span>.” Years of production. Millions of dollars. And they always \u2014\u00a0always<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>\u2014 return to the original messy instinct they started with. The circle validates the beginning.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Or this: Andy Warhol<\/em> <\/span><\/a>spent his most celebrated period painting\u00a0soup cans<\/em><\/span>\u00a0\u2014 the most basic, mass-produced objects on earth. He went from fine art training back to the ordinary. The circle made him legendary.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n You don’t arrive at knowledge. You orbit it<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Each revolution \u2014 tighter, richer, closer to the core.<\/p>\n The learning curve? \nGrades. Levels. Certifications.<\/p>\n
\nGo back to first principles. Not to repeat\u2014but to reinterpret.<\/p>\n
\nClarity is often borrowed. Confusion is deeply original.<\/p>\n
\nThere is power in saying, \u201cI was wrong.\u201d It resets the loop.<\/p>\n
\nApply the same idea in wildly different arenas. Watch it mutate.<\/p>\n
\nCuriosity without ego is your unfair advantage.<\/p>\n
\nAn entrepreneur begins naive, becomes strategic, then returns to instinct.
\nA teacher starts with answers, gathers frameworks, and ends with better questions.<\/p>\n\n
