The Obstacle is the Way!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Part of the caption is with respectful attribution to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/ryanholiday.net\/\">Ryan Holiday<\/a>&#8216;s<\/em><\/span> seminal book &#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Obstacle-Way-Timeless-Turning-Triumph\/dp\/1591846358\">The Obstacle is the Way<\/a> &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have two options in a crisis:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accept the reality and accept the crisis as a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>catalyst<\/em><\/span> for the change that we have always wanted to make..or<\/li>\n<li>Resist the reality and accept our <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>temporary circumstances<\/em><\/span> become our <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>permanent identity<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>The worst thing you can do when you are unemployed is to spend all your time looking for a job<\/em><\/span>. <strong>Why?<\/strong> because what you are doing is spending all your focus, energy and attention on the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>greatest source<\/em><\/span> giving the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>maximum anxiety<\/em><\/span> in your life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s remember that an <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>economy<\/em><\/span> that once rewarded people for fitting in now <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>rewards<\/em><\/span> people for <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>standing out<\/em><\/span>. Probably a rude awakening for some of us sitting around waiting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a while since the dreaded <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Corona<\/em><\/span> pulverised us but that said &#8221; have we fallen prey to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Cornona Fatigue<\/em><\/span>?\u00a0 The new term that has been coined to describe our collective sense of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>exhaustion, helplessness<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>inertia<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That means we seem to have dropped the ball on our <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>creative work<\/em><\/span> and doing the bare minimum that needs to be done( plus Prime and Netflix of course!) . We got tired, frustrated and just waiting for better days.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1745\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sureshdinakaran.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/FAY-LURE.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Creativity is future proof<\/em><\/span>. Maybe you are thinking:-<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>I&#8217;m my own greatest obstacle<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>My self-doubt is an obstacle<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>My own motivation and focus or lack thereof is my biggest obstacle<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>We may feel that there could be something better and more fulfilling to do with our time and energy<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Enough of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>(doom)scrolling, tweeting<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>obsessive email checking<\/em><\/span>. What else can we do and what can we do and what prevents us from doing those other things?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The pandemic has made us hyper-focused on what sucks and short sighted about other things that we still have control over.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Everyone feels like a fraud<\/em><\/span>. We are all <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>making it up<\/em><\/span>. There is only <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>one difference<\/em> <\/span>between people who get out of their way and those who don&#8217;t.
