And get it at any cost seems to be the endeavor. By being over the top. Being controversial. By gross exaggeration. By misleading. By being opportunistic. By waving the flag on cancel culture. By tagging along with the powers that be.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The noise around is deafening. The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>hustle culture<\/em><\/span> is omnipresent. The temptation to trade standards, principles, dignity, ethics and values in the quest for some <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>attention<\/em><\/span> is high. It might be an interim desire but that remains.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1419\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sureshdinakaran.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Trust-or-Attention.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/simonsinek.com\/\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Simon Sinek<\/em><\/span><\/a> called out to <a href=\"https:\/\/simonsinek.com\/books\/start-with-why\/\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Start with Why<\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8211; how about <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Start with Trust<\/em><\/span> ? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Trust<\/em><\/span> is the basis for almost everything we do. It\u2019s the foundation on which our laws and contracts are built. It\u2019s the reason we\u2019re willing to exchange our hard-earned paychecks for goods and services, to pledge our lives to another person in marriage, and to cast a ballot for someone who will represent our interests. It\u2019s also the input that makes it possible for leaders to create the conditions for employees to fully realize their own capacity and power.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There is also the temptation to overlap and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>substitute trust with reputation<\/em><\/span> but there is a clear divide and both are distinct from each other. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>The tripod of trust stands on authenticity, logic and empathy<\/em><\/span>. People tend to trust you when they believe they are interacting with the real you (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>authenticity<\/em><\/span>), when they have faith in your judgment and competence (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>logic<\/em><\/span>), and when they feel that you care about them (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>empathy<\/em><\/span>). When trust is lost, it can almost always be traced back to a breakdown in one of these three drivers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So in the toss up between <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>trust<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>attention<\/em><\/span>, what are you willing to call out?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Seek unabashed attention is the rallying cry.
