Alongside being the Goddess of darkness, destruction, and death, Kali is also a symbol of Mother Nature because she is believed to be timeless and formless, representing the creation of life and the universe as well. \u00a0The goddess is stated to destroy evil in order to defend the innocent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Alas, as entrepreneurs, we neither have the divine advantage of eight hands like Goddess Kali nor the strength that the immortals do. The ground reality presents a different scenario of course. Entrepreneurs are relentlessly putting in 80 plus hour weeks in the hope that they will be able to scale their business to potential. They <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>think<\/em><\/span> they are scaling their business when in reality they are trying to grow the business. They think that being away from their business would be sacrilege. They have a team and think that they are <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>delegating<\/em><\/span> tasks appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Truth be told, entrepreneurs spend most of their time in &#8216; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>contractor<\/em><\/span> &#8216; mode, wherein it becomes incumbent upon them to be <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>deciding for others<\/em><\/span>, what one call &#8216; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>the deciding trap<\/em><\/span> &#8216; , where you are task rabbiting as outlined by author <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Mike Michalowicz<\/em> <\/span>in the updated edition of his book \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3um7chR\"><em>Clockwork: Design Your Business to Run Itself \u2013 Revised and Expanded .\u00a0<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have all heard this before but it is still worth reiterating- when a business doesn\u2019t depend on the owner, it becomes more profitable and saleable. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>The inability to delegate effectively<\/em><\/span> is a serious achilles heel amongst business owners. This applies to leaders in large organisations as well and hence not typical to entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A growth mindset( more time, more effort, and hopefully better results) limits the possibility of the business realising its true potential which will come from having a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>scaling mindset<\/em><\/span>, where they leverage resources to achieve the same or better results with less effort.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sureshdinakaran.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Groove-Rut.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"651\" height=\"601\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sureshdinakaran.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/08\/rip-productivity-productivity-is-not-working\/\"><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Working\u00a0is\u00a0Not\u00a0Productivity<\/span><\/em><\/a>.\u00a0The message once(and even now) was loud and clear.\u00a0Relentless self-optimisation\u00a0was a way to cope, but is it really?\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Humans are NOT search engines<\/em><\/span>\u00a0!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There has been always something obscene about <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>the\u00a0cult of the hustle<\/em><\/span>,\u00a0the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>treadmill\u00a0of\u00a0alienated insecurity<\/em><\/span> that tells you that the moment you stop running for even an instant, you will be flung flat on your face. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Arbeit Macht Frei<\/em>.\u00a0<em>Meaning work sets you free<\/em><\/span>. These words first appeared in an 1873 German novel. And later got adopted by the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Nazis<\/em><\/span> as a slogan. The mantra of work as freedom or a magical route to happiness has proved incredibly resilient. The reality is that for billions of people around the world ,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>work is a tightrope walk oscillating between indignity and survival<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Entrepreneurs suffer from the &#8216; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>hero-trap<\/em><\/span> &#8216;, a delusional state that tells them that they are <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Hercules<\/em><\/span> + \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><i>Machiavelli<\/i><\/span> combined. Sorry to disappoint the Type A Alpha, you are not. So, time to stop playing the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Queen Bee<\/em><\/span> role and start welcoming support and inspiring others to excel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, contractor, ready to enter into a contract with the architect in you?
