But, here by design the thought is for your <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Maximum Viable Product<\/em><\/span>. As you show up and ship it out in the full knowledge that it is made for the smallest viz <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Minimum Viable Audience<\/em><\/span>&#8211; lets call them the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early adopters<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Geoffrey Moore<\/em><\/span> who coined the term <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>chasm<\/em><\/span>.The term for the gap between the small part of the market populated with people who like to go first, and the larger group of people who want to get involved with something that\u2019s proven, popular and effective.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early adopters<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 are the ones who ask &#8216;is it new?&#8217; , &#8216; what is different? &#8216;. The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early majority<\/em><\/span> come in next(they are early followers) once they see it is effective and it is working.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early adopters<\/em><\/span> are the ones we need to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>delight<\/em><\/span>. They then take on the mantle of being your <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>unofficial brand ambassadors<\/em><\/span>. They spread the word. They tell the others. They are the ones who help cross the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>chasm<\/em><\/span> and bring in the next round of users | followers, the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early majority<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1025\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sureshdinakaran.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/PLEASE-Dont.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The trap is in trying to be all things to all people at the same time. Resist the temptation. The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early adopters<\/em><\/span> will do the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>generous work<\/em><\/span> of bringing the others on board.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Not everyone goes first. Almost no one does. Our <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>culture changes<\/em><\/span> when the <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">early adopters<\/span><\/em> tell the others. And it applies to almost everything,\u00a0 be it rock bands, organic juice, movies, electric cars, books or online courses. What we have to show is the tenacity and persistence of showing up first, delight the daylights out of the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early adopters<\/em><\/span>, win their trust and then go on to win the hearts and minds of those who didn&#8217;t show up first. The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>chasm<\/em><\/span> gets crossed and the community gets built.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>not a linear sequence<\/em><\/span>. You might be ready with your launch. But people show up when they are ready. Not when you are.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Find your <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>mojo<\/em><\/span>. The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>early adopters<\/em><\/span>.
